Wind & Sky Productions is an independent production company specialising in short documentaries. Founded by Jary Nemo and Lucinda Horrocks in 2008, Wind & Sky favours stories that engender social responsibility and promote positive change, with a focus on stories of community, history, science and culture.
Since foundation Wind & Sky Productions has produced twenty short documentary films of interest to local and regional audiences. Based in Ballarat, Jary and Lucinda demonstrate a significant and unique understanding of a community, as shown in their regional productions such as the well-publicised In Memory of Bull Allen, and the story of Italian women migrants in North-Eastern Victoria The Savoy Ladies Group.
Wind & Sky have just completed a series of four short films featuring local stories for the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka (M.A.D.E. Ballarat) as part of the Eureka 160th anniversary celebration. Those films now form a part of the museum's permanent exhibition.
Wind & Sky's real stories about real people connect with audiences in diverse, engaging ways. The new world of media means audiences are accessing and watching video as never before. To Jary and Lucinda, the digital environment presents a powerful storytelling platform for large and small scale projects, and they are passionate about bringing documentary storytelling to new applications.
