Anzac Cottage is unique in Australia - it is the only war memorial that was also a home for a wounded soldier and is thought to be the first war memorial constructed in this state.
The Centenary of Anzac Cottage will take place in 2016 and this will allow us to not only commemorate all of those who took part in that fateful landing at Gallipoli, but also honour the communities left behind who undertook such amazing projects as the construction of the Cottage to demonstrate their appreciation and respect for the sacrifices made.
Plans for the historic weekend include a concert featuring Agelink Theatre performing a play written especially for the Anzac Cottage story, a re-enactment of the handing over of the keys to the Cottage and a special birthday party to mark the 100th anniversary of the building of the Cottage.
