Remembering WWI through links with regional Red Cross, war memorials and honour/ honor rolls

I am an individual researcher, and a NSW individual Red Cross member.

It is important to remember and celebrate the work of the foundation Australian Red Cross members and helpers, otherwise their amazing WWI efforts and achievements are far too easily forgotten. These were the volunteers who helped form the Australian Red Cross Society.

Since many WWI Red Cross branches seemed to work together within much larger regional districts, in order to understand WWI Red Cross regional efforts, the study of several regional Red Cross groups is helpful in trying to understand their overall regional WWI efforts, hence my research into a few WWI Red Cross branches.

My aim is to have a greater awareness of the roles of such agencies as Red Cross in WWI and recognition of their work in early veteran welfare type programs, before the existence of organisations such as the RSL.

I would also like the importance of local memorials/ honour/ honor rolls to be recognized, as often being the building stones for the larger regional and national memorials of Australia.

For several years I have sent Australian Red Cross and the RSL copies of my Red Cross research, and have also sent the RSL and the register of war memorials in NSW numerous regional war memorial and Honor/ Honour Roll photos from places such as Adaminaby, Berridale, Wattle Park, Cooma, Majors Creek, Yass, Collector, Queanbeyan, Bungendore and many other regional areas.
